Other than the indenture itself, trustees are the most important part of a trust system.
A well-crafted trust administered by the wrong people is not a protected trust. Competence, character, enthusiasm, independence, and genuine alignment with your intentions determine whether the arrangement holds up over time.
Fiduciary Responsibility
A trustee holds legal title and carries fiduciary duty for the assets and interests placed in their care. That responsibility is the backbone of the arrangement.
Competence
A working knowledge of equity jurisprudence, trust administration, and the practical operation of a private trust makes a meaningful difference in how the trust functions.
Character
Trustees and trust officers should be of impeccable moral character and bring genuine enthusiasm to the role. No structure compensates for the wrong people administering it.
Independence
Independent, non-related trustees strengthen the integrity and defensibility of a trust system.
Stewardship
A trust is meant to be vibrant and active. Trustees are the ones who keep it that way through consistent, thoughtful administration.

How It Works
From recruitment to ongoing education.

Recruit
We actively recruit in the market to identify candidates suited to your situation and the roles your trust system requires.

Vet
Candidates go through interviews, character reference checks, background checks, and a review of education and relevant experience.

Introduce
We make warm introductions to at least three vetted candidates — typically a grantor and two trustees, or one trustee and one trust protector — so you can meet them directly and ask your own questions.

Select
You decide. The choice of who serves in each role remains entirely with you.

Appointment
The selected trustee is appointed by you. Trustees are not employees of The Freedom Studio; the relationship is theirs and yours.

Onboard
We help orient the selected trustees to the trust indentures, the roles involved, and the practical steps of beginning administration.

Continue Learning
Trustees and clients alike benefit from ongoing education and participation in The Trustee Network, where trustees continue to learn, connect, and serve.
