Institutional Co-Trustee Services
Appoint Us as Your Co-Trustee
Experienced oversight. Greater continuity. Confidence for your Primary Trustee.
Our Institutional Co-Trustee serves alongside your existing Primary Trustee, bringing experience in equity-based Trust Systems, independent review of significant decisions, and continuity in trust administration.
Benefits
Why Appoint an Institutional Co-Trustee?
Experienced Guidance
Access Trustees experienced in equity-based Trust Systems and advanced private trust administration.
Support for Your Primary Trustee
Your Primary Trustee doesn't have to carry the full responsibility of the office alone.
Independent Oversight
Significant decisions benefit from an additional experienced perspective.
Long-Term Continuity
Institutional participation supports continuity when individual Trustees resign or pass away.
Consistent Administration
Encourage proper records, minutes, resolutions, and sound administrative practices.
Balance and Privacy
Combine the personal knowledge of a family Trustee with independent expertise from a private, unincorporated institutional trust.
How It Works
Three Roles. One Coordinated Trust Administration.
Role 1
Primary Trustee
- Conducts day-to-day administration.
- Remains the primary point of responsibility for routine trust operations.
Role 2
Trust Manager
- Supports the Trustees with administrative and operational tasks.
- Helps maintain records and coordinate routine activities.
Role 3
Institutional Co-Trustee
- Provides oversight and experienced guidance.
- Participates in Significant Decisions.
- Holds the powers and duties of a Trustee as defined in the Trust Indenture.
Significant Decisions may include major property transactions, distributions to Beneficiaries, amendments, appointments or removals of Trust Officers, and disputes.
Clients can select which trusts within their Trust System receive the Co-Trustee appointment.
Once accepted, the appointment continues until resignation or removal under the Trust Indenture; it does not require annual renewal.
The Institutional Co-Trustee serves alongside your Primary Trustee, not in their place. Its practical focus is oversight and guidance rather than routine day-to-day administration.
